Sleigh Ride
This was at the beginning of the day. Over the next 2 hours they improved it so that the ramp up the back of the car spun them around and back on to the track.
Happy Holidays!
Jingle Bells! Jingle Bells!
Seriously he will just bursts into song.
And like everything he is very animated.
He keeps us laughing and busy.
The Stockings Were Hung
I have always wanted knit Christmas stockings. I even tried to learn how to knit so that I could have them. Then I had a better idea. My cousin Karen is a pro-knitter. I gave her my idea and she did a wonderful job. I love them. Thanks so much!

Saturday
Boston has always loved music. He recognizes the sounds of different instruments, knows how they are played and what section of the orchestra they are in. He loves playing his guitar, harmonica, drum set and especially Rock Band. He is generally the boss of the radio in the car. He calls out I want disc 4 song 8 Mr. Roboto or disc 5 song 13 Pop Goes the World, Thriller, Pump Up the Jam, Eye of the Tiger, Living on a Prayer, One Week and on and on. And he knows from the first few notes if you got the right song. Since last Christmas he has said that he wants Santa to bring him a violin and has stuck to it. A trip to the Symphony was a big deal. We sat right above the orchestra so he could see all the instruments. He loved watching the timpani drums or when they would get ready to use the cymbals, bells, etc.
When you throw in a ride on Trax, seeing the temple, watching the tower cranes downtown , watching Rudolf on the ride home and Santa in one day it just can't get any better.
By the time it was sit nicely on the stage and sing some Christmas songs time ...
The Lights
Boston loves to spot the temple whenever we are driving near downtown and always requests that we drive right by it. He had a great time seeing the lights with the temple.
He is here!

The Hill
Spencer talked the snow plow into pushing all the snow to our front yard. He used the snow to build the best sledding hill EVER! Of course Boston helped.
A sledding path
A climbing wall
A body chute
A ride with Dad
Again and again!
A very happy boy!

Sparkling
Spencer got ready for work last night and was complaining to us about the weather. He looked out the window and saw the snow crystals blowing around and said "This isn't even snow". Boston looked out the window and said, "No! It's sparkling!"
So fun!
Betcha can't get past me!!
Boston had a great time following all the antelope trails in the backyard.

I mentioned in an earlier blog that we were almost trampled by a herd of sheep. Here's the story: Boston and I were sitting on a small hill near the river playing while Spencer fished. Spencer was within sight a little ways up the river. To either side of us was a fence and the river was in front of us so we were in a relatively small area that was fairly confined. Boston and I were talking and throwing rocks into the river. Occasionally a car or semi would drive along the highway on the horizon, we could hear it before we could see it and would watch for it. As we were sitting there we could hear the rumble of what sounded like a large truck that would be crossing the horizon soon. It was taking longer than I thought it should and I turned around to see what else it could be. At the top of the hill we were sitting on was a herd of sheep with the big rams at the front coming to the river to drink. A man was herding them on a horse and two dogs so they were in a hurry. When they saw us they tried to stop but their momentum and the sheep behind them pushed them down the hill. As soon as I saw the sheep I grabbed Boston. I picked him up by the back of his jacket so his feet were just off the ground and ran to the fence that was closest. I thought that the fence would help us because we would then not be surrounded by the sheep. I wanted to keep Boston in a position that if I fell he could keep going so I did not pick him up entirely. When we reached the fence I had to run along it until we reached the bridge that crossed over the fence down to the opposite side. By the time we got over and looked back the sheep had crossed through the opposite fence and had dissipated. The herdsman rode up and said, "Looks like those big rams gave you quite a scare." Spencer was shortly behind him. He saw the whole thing. He said he kept thinking we would move as the herd got closer and closer. He wanted to do something to warn us but was to far away to do anything but whistle. I heard him whistle to us just as I turned around to see the sheep.
At the time we laughed about it. Later I talked to my mom about it and she was amazed at how blessed we were in the situation. As I look back on it I see that it would have been so easy for Boston to have been far enough away from me that I could not get to him before the sheep.
These were taken from the rock we were sitting on.
Top of the hill.

I know that I will never forget the sight of those rams in a cloud dust at the top of the hill silhouetted by the setting sun.
Once again thanks for you prayers!

River Trip
It wouldn't be a trip to the river with out throwing things in it.
It wouldn't be a trip to the river without fishing.
