Carving Day

First some Legos.

Vanessa, Justin, Tanner, Grand and Grandpa came to carve pumpkins and watch Boston's Primary program. Boston wanted a scary pumpkin.  He showed Spencer exactly how he wanted it to look.
Boston's line in the Primary program was "My favorite prophet is President Monson because I can follow him."  He ended up saying "President Monson is my favorite prophet because he can follow me."  Everyone laughed and he quickly corrected himself.  He also sang the first few lines of I Love to See the Temple by himself before the rest of the kids joined him. He did a great job.

September

Boston's September School Work
the tracing of him has one circle in each hand. "two quarters to buy ice cream"
the face page shows how he is feeling his first day of school, "kinda sad"

Raining

Boston was excited to show me that it was "raining under the tree".
"See mom! It's raining leaves."

Before we went Boston kept talking about seeing Captain Hook but when it came right down to it.  He was worried because he was a bad guy.  We promised him any treat he wanted ...

... and this is what he picked.
He wanted the big pink princess lollipop.
We made a promise and so he got what he wanted.
Silly boy!

Exploring

The cargo net bridge ...
(grand and grandpa are such good sports)
reading maps
rock wall climbing and many other activities were part of the park

There are several activities to complete and once you have finished them you can go to an explorer's ceremony where you see Kevin and get a badge from Russel.  Bos loved it.

Boston enjoyed seeing Tom Sawyer's Island
"just like Grandpa did when he was a kid"

I just want one little piece of treasure.

Buddy

We are so happy we got to spend our Disneyland trip with Bos' "buddy".

The Lego Store

Bos was in heaven. He is a Lego maniac.

Hotel Pool

Boston was excited to see the palm trees.

The hotel pool had a fun splash area and a shallow area where Boston enjoyed playing.

The Entertainment

We just happened to be in line for Small World when the parade started.  Which happens to be one of the best places to watch the parade.  Boston was the first kid in the line of crowds and he was calling out and waving furiously so all the characters waved at him.  Ariel even blew him kisses.

We only got to see the fireworks one night.  We saw Fantasmic two nights.  Boston loved it all but hid when the dragon appeared.  We also saw World of Color two times.  The first time we had too many people in front of us so it was difficult to see.  The second time we had a better place to watch.  It is amazing.  Boston loved the lasers and fountains.

In this show an animation of Crush talks to a few members of a large audience.  My Dad saw it twice and both times he was singled out and both times asked if he liked to swim and if he liked to swim fast or slow.  When Crush asked for audience questions he saw Boston waving his hand and sent the microphone guy over to him.   They talked about what Crush's kids names are and what he likes to eat.  It was fun to have Boston be a part of the show.

They have a lot of bands walking around or standing on corners playing music and interacting with the crowds.  We were waiting for part of our group so we sat down and watched one of the bands.  Boston loves the violin and often plays the air violin, like he is in the above photo.  The band members noticed him and talked to him for a minute.  When they started a new song I told him he should go up and play his air violin with them (I did not think he would but it was worth a try).  I told him they wanted him to go and help them with the song and he headed up there.  I thought he would just stand a little in front of them but he headed right past the speakers and stood with them.  They got him a hat and a percussion type instrument that  you are supposed to rub or shake but he used it as a violin.  The band thought it was pretty funny to see him doing an air violin and was glad to have him play along. It was another only in Disneyland moment.

The Characters

This is one of my favorite stories from Disneyland.  Boston watched people hand papers to the characters for their autograph's.  When we saw Max he asked Grand for a paper and pen.  We thought he wanted to ask Max for his autograph, instead he wrote his name on the paper and gave it to Max.  Max played along so great.

Max is holding the paper Boston signed out for the picture.

It was so much fun to see Boston's reaction to the characters.  He did not want to see them at first but then he was so fun with them.

The Rides

Thanks Grandpa for standing in line for and hour to ride Dumbo!

"Are you sure about this?" Boston would ask a hundred times when he was nervous about a ride.
Usually he asked Grandpa because he trusted him the most.

Boston often checked himself to see if he was tall enough to ride.
The employees also often checked his height.

Bos has always said that he would NOT ride the Matterhorn.  He watched the Disneyland videos with grandpa many times before our trip and did NOT want to see the Abominable Snowman.  Spencer insisted on it.  Now Boston says that it is one of his favorites.

Boston's favorite rides were Goofy's Sky School, Grizzly River Rapids, Small World, Astro Blasters and Splash Mountain.  My favorite is Peter Pan but the ride always has a 40 minute wait time.  It was our first time to ride Toy Story Mania and we loved it.  Unfortunately so did everyone else.
