We had two trees removed from the backyard. Boston was in heaven driving the back hoe to pull out the tree and then driving the fork lift truck to haul the tree away. He has been dreaming of driving the fork lift truck for a long long time. When they took the second tree out it tipped our sand box. We pulled it out of the way while we decided what to do with it.

Park
Old Park
New Park in boxes
New Park in progress
Finally
I have been working on this project for about 6 months. It has been so fun and so frustrating. There have been close to thirty different plans drawn. Then narrowed down to three and finally this design was chosen. Then we were waiting for production and shipping. Then we were waiting for our crew. Then we were waiting for a set of stairs. Then we were waiting for the final bolts. Then we were waiting for sand but we played anyways. We still are an inch or two short of the fill level but we have just heaped sand up at the endings of the slides so the kids don't fall off instead of landing on their feet. I am so excited to have a new and safe place to play. We have played there for hours and hours already. I think it is a success.
Power Plant Fishing
A fishing lesson
I do not know how to keep this boy's face clean.
Rocks near water never have a chance with Boston around
still a little worried
Spencer took us to fish at the power plant lake one day. The trout were not biting so Spencer focused on the craw dads. Spencer and Boston walked down the shore to find the best fishing spot. They came back a few minutes later and Spencer asked if I had heard that they caught one. Boston's reaction to the first craw dad was pure terror. Spencer said he screamed and jumped and screamed some more. Spencer was worried he was going to accidentally jump in the lake. It took a while to calm him down. By the end of the trip he was okay with them as long as they were about 3 feet away.
Chalk Drawing
I got out the chalk did some chores and came back to find this wonderful chalk city. They worked so well together and stayed busy for quite some time. Which meant I got some more chores done.
Sprinklers
This sprinkler was left on for a day or two to green up the grass. Boston saw it as a great opportunity to get filthy. I looked out the back window to see him running around in this swamp. Boston usually last five seconds in the sprinklers because he gets "bored" but most of the fun in this sprinkler was the naughtiness of it.
Microscope
Boston got a microscope for Christmas. We found some leaves, petals and a feather to look at. He thought it was great but then Spencer caught a few bugs and those were awesome. We really liked it. Now we just need to find some other things to study.
