Small Town Parade

Is it time yet?

It's coming! It's coming!
Yes, he jumped around like this for the entire parade.  (It was a small parade.)  He said he was tired and sweaty so we told him just to wave and cheer but it was too exciting.

These are some of the moments we are so thankful for video cameras.
He hopped around like that whenever he picked up the candy thrown by the people in the parade.
What a funny boy!

The firetruck at the end was definitely the highlight.

Rockets

We took some of our friends out to shoot model rockets.

Boston couldn't figure out how to push the launch button and cover his ears.

Tadpoles

Spencer found a puddle full of tadpoles on one of his desert trips.
We went back a couple of days later and caught a few to watch grow up.

"We caught two!"

Got to throw rocks!

Finally

Summer

Family

This is what it is all about:
We love our two little miracles so much!

Always a little craziness!

Mowing the Lawn

My parents make us work for our room and keep when we come to stay.  This trip they made Boston mow the lawn.  Actually mowing the lawn with Grandpa is one of his favorite things to do.

Boston is telling Grandpa that he has already done that part of the lawn

Good job!

The Zoo

Boston loved the train, the ice cream,
and the rest he ran through with a quick look at most of the animals.
We had so much fun.

Dinosaurs at the Zoo

Boston was not a big fan of the large moving roaring dinosaurs.

This one did not move or roar so he was willing to check it out for a minute.

Wee-Oh Wee-Ohs

Everything Boston makes with his Legos is covered with what he calls Wee-Oh Wee-Ohs.
(Pronounced like the sound of a siren.)
He is all about emergency vehicles and helicopters right now.

Baby Jackson

He's not much of a baby anymore (especially because he is almost as big as Boston).
The boys loved playing together.  They move so fast and so busy they are mostly a blur.
We were glad to crash John and Sharon's house for one evening.

Scram Ball

Scram Ball is definitely Spencer favorite game. (It is like dodge ball with a dice/ball that determines who the thrower is.)  My family had the game and we used to play it in the 90s. But then the game got lost. Spencer searched the internet for it and could never find it.  John finally found one for him and then my mom found a Twister ball that is similar.  Now we get a group of neighbors together and play on warm nights.  Of course the original Scram Ball is still in its plastic wrap high on a shelf.  We play with the Twister Ball and it is getting quite worn out but I don't know if he will ever break out the original.

Boston wants to be right in there with them but, it gets a little rough for kids to play with the adults.
So Boston played before the big people arrived.  He loves it as much as his Dad.

Spencer modified the field to maximize playing area.

Wheelin'

He is an expert scooter rider and now ...
can ride a bike without training wheels.
(as long as he has on his helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, gloves and Dad running behind.)

It is so fun to watch him learn new things and so sad to think he is growing up.
Of course Spencer can't wait for Boston to be able to ride with out him running behind.  It is quite a work out.

Playing the Blues

When you have to go to bed while it is still light outside you have plenty to be blue about.

Kites

Boston liked to have his kite "up to the sun"

On the way back Boston decided that he was going to be "old" and used a stick as a cane.
Then he found one for Spencer so that they could both be old.

Hey!

Spencer used a  lawn mower to make some lawn art in our backyard.  Bos thought it was great.
But our backyard neighbors wondered why someone would write something so rude in the lawn.

I Can't Believe She Let's Her Kid Do That

It is 50 degrees.  He is wearing a pajama top, his swimming suit and flip flops that are way too big.

There are times when I am just so tired of saying "What do you think you are doing?!" or "No way!"  that I just get the camera, sit back and let him do his thing.

Berries Berries Berries

Boston loves berries. Always has.
He would eat nothing but berries if I would let him.
Fortunately they are really good for you.
Unfortunately they are expensive and really really messy.
Most of his clothes have purple berry stains.
And often his face looks like this

:

No Training Wheels!

No training wheels! Not yet.
Spencer is trying to teach him but, Boston is not so sure it is a good idea.
Instead he just rides his scooter.

A Day with the Greats!

At Grandpas we:
Looked for the temple from Grandpas porch.

Helped Tanner
We set Tanner on the grass for a minute to look at the garden.
When he started to cry Bos ran right over and got under the car seat cover to entertained him.

And of course visited Great Grandpa 'Slip

At Grandmas we:
 Fed the ducks.
He is pointing out the bread he threw that the ducks missed.

And of course visited Great Grandma Coleman

It doesn't get much greater than this!
